Hyundai Motors completed the deployment ‘Global Eco-Friendly System’ when all of its business sites worldwide were certified by ISO14001 as of 2013. Kia Motors has supported the eco-friendly business sites of suppliers via the SCEM program since 2003, and promoted the implementation of an integrated greenhouse gas management system by 2010. Also, Hyundai Steel was certified ISO 50001 for all of its business sites.
- Improvement and Reinforcement of Environmental Management System
Hyundai Motors provides regular training for environmental coordinators in order to continuously improve its ISO14001 Environmental Management System. Kia Motors expands the system to suppliers and operates in advanced manner. Hyundai Steel implements GEMS for the systematic management of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
- Environmental Contingency and Its Countermeasures
Hyundai Motors is equipped with eco-friendly control capacity against environmental incidents and minimizing the damage, and by distributing an Environmental Contingency manual to each and every site. In addition, Hyundai Motors operates a greenhouse gas management system to respond to climate changes and an Agent Information system to control the discharge of pollutants and monitor global environmental regulations and codes.

Hyundai Motor Group makes the safety of its officers and employees the top priority in the operation of its business and production sites, and is committed to performing safety inspections and preventing any incidents with its exclusive safety team. HGM strengthens the ‘Top priority in safety and environment’ principles among all officers and employees through standard safety work instruction, education on safety and health, repeated inspection of safety and health facilities and other diverse measures.
