Kia Motors (Ltd) has made a monthly export record, ever since the establishment of the company, exporting 56,330 vehicles during May.
The export record of May indicates an 11.6% increase compared to Marchs export volume of 50,453 vehicles, which was the largest export volume. The May record accounts for 38% of increase compared to the previous month (April, 2000).
Kia Motors explained the reasons why the export increased sharply. There were successful entries into the North American and European markets by exporting about 7,500 small passenger cars for the first time in May. The diversification of kinds of cars was achieved by exporting about 5,000 Carnivals around Europe. The continuous exports increased into the North American market and to Asia and Pacific areas such as Indonesia and Australia and should be considered another reason.
Kia also sold 32,637 vehicles, which increased 31.4% and 15.2% compared to the same month of the previous year and previous month of the previous year respectively in the domestic market. In the combined volume of 88,967 were sold in the domestic and foreign markets, recording 36.8% and 28.6% compared to the same month and previous month of the previous year respectively.
A person affiliated with Kia, showed confidence, saying, Monthly sales of 100,000 vehicles is at hand. Kia will show new medium-sized type of MS in the second half of the year, after successful market entry of the new "Spectra". The company plans to increase marketing activity for all types of vehicles in the domestic market and abroad.
