Kia reaches out for ‘1,143,000 car sales & 500 billion won revenue’

Kia Motors Company flings down the gauntlet for the year 2001.
Kia set up a business goal for this year to sell 114.3 thousand cars at home and abroad that are worth 12.5 trillion won and to produce net profit of 500 billion won.
Setting up a business motto as the ‘belt-tightening, flexible and adequate crisis management’, Kia will focus on insuring substantiality by expediting profit-oriented and cash flow centered management policies.
Kia has a goal in the 21st century to rear Optima, Carens, Carnival, and Frontier as the representative vehicles with No. 1 domestic market share. Moreover, Kia designed an aggressive foreign market management policy in order to compensate for the losses rising from the decline in the local market.
Kia will reinforce quality-oriented management by putting much emphasis on quality, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery. Moreover, it will equip the factories with advanced production facilities to improve operating ratio, non-adjusted ratio as well as efficiency so that Kia can hold a dominant position in the global market.
The local carmaker will continue the ‘Six Sigma’ campaign this year and challenge for the most prestigious quality award, Korea Quality Grand Award as well as result in a substantial and visible outcome in regards to IQS.
Kia also promises extensive renovation in the A/S sector. It will facilitate the real name service system implemented last year and expand the near-by customer service network, car clinic.
“Our new year goal is to convert critical domestic market condition into an opportunity to improve export,” said Kia Motors Company CEO Chung Mong-Koo.
