- Over 500 Kia dealers and agents worldwide will come to Korea to learn more about the company
Following the success of last year’s “Millennium Tour”, the first marketing event targeted at Kia dealers and agents worldwide, Kia plans to hold another similar event under the title of “2001 Kia the Future” this year. According to plans, the company will invite about 500 newly contracted Kia Motors dealers and agents, as well as those who didn’t have the opportunity to participate last year. The event will continued till end of the year, and is conceived as part of Kia’s efforts to consolidate a profit-oriented management system and achieve export goals set by the company.
The participants are first invited to Kia’s new head office in Seoul, where they shall hear about the company’s determined will to become a major competitor in the global auto market. Later, they are introduced to detailed company plans for a development of technology and improvement of quality. They are then provided with the opportunity to enjoy a tour of Kia’s advanced production lines and R&D facilities.
The first visitor group arrived from the Netherlands on April 3rd for a 5-day trip. This group consisted of 16 members including Mr. W.A.M. Busser, chief director of Kia’s Distributor for the Netherlands, Mr. A.J.D. Nelemans, the Distributor sales manager, and a number of top-performing dealers including Mr. H.S.J. Kennedie. All members of the party visited Kia’s Hwasung Plant, and looked around the production lines of the cars they sell. During the visit they were able to test-drive vehicles on the proving ground, and later they visited Kia’s head office in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, where they were introduced to each product line displayed in the show room. They also heard about the company’s new products, as well as marketing and sales promotion strategies.
“I’m quite happy about this trip,” a dealer from the group said at the head office in Yangjae-dong, “because I can learn much about Kia and the products I deal with. I am impressed at the fact that Kia has technology and production facilities that are comparable with those of the world’s best players in the industry. As a Kia dealer, I can now be more proud of my job and myself.”
“Our plan,” an insider from the Export Promotion Team said of the program, “is to invite 40 to 50 overseas dealers on a monthly basis to show the bright business prospects our company. We hope that the program will make a great contribution towards the consolidation of our business partnership with them.”
