February 17 2003- Kia Motors did not quite let the Opirus luxury sedan out of the bag today, but visitors to the company website are invited to take a peek inside.
The vehicle`s new teaser site at www.kia-opirus.com provides a tantalizing preview of the new Kia flagship, due to be unveiled in full at the 2003 Geneva Motor Show next month.
Director of Overseas Marketing Park Hong said, "The Internet is an invaluable tool in pre-launching important vehicles like the Opirus. The vehicle has been the subject of considerable speculation both in Korea and overseas and the new site will answer some of the questions we are being asked."
Korea is one of the most wired countries in the world, with broadband access in almost 50% of households. The site, however, is designed to be quick to download without losing any visual impact.
"The site will feature a much more comprehensive look at the Opirus as soon as the car is launched," says Mr. Hong. "For now we just wanted to give people a taste of what to expect."
The pre-launch site is part of a marketing strategy that will see increased use of high-impact Internet sites coupled with online marketing initiatives to develop the reputation of Kia as a young, friendly company.
