Int'l Quality Certification Acquired for Chassis Module
MOBIS acquired international quality recognition for its Ulsan plant's chassis module system from the world's most authoritative auto industry-related quality certification agency (ISO/TS 16949: 2002) for the first time in Korea.
The quality certification was received from British Standards Institute (BSI) and recognized by International Automotive Task Force (IATF) which was organized by the U.S. big 3, European and Japanese carmakers. The institute's quality examination criteria and procedures are very complicated and vigorous as the world's highest automotive quality system standards.
Last year, MOBIS also acquired the same international recognitions for its airbag module system and driver's seat module system. With the present certification of its chassis module system as well, MOBIS now has global quality recognition for all three core automotive modules.
The chassis module system acquired the recognition through the company's own one-year-long independent preparatory process from 2002, in particular, without any external consultancy.
Targeting its advance among the global top 10 autoparts makers by 2010, MOBIS also plans to acquire international recognition for the chassis module system and audio, AV and navigation sectors of its plants in Incheon and Gyeonggi Province this year and for the brake system sector of its Cheonan plant next year with a vision to establish a company-wide quality management system.
