- Austrian TV channel and 4x4 magazine vote Kia model No1
SEOUL 30 October, 2003 - The Kia Sorento claimed another award this week when it was voted “4-wheel drive Champion 2003” in Austria - pushing VW’s Touareg into runner-up place.
The poll was conducted among two consumer groups. The thousands of website visitors to the home page of national television broadcaster Chanel TW1 and among the 75,000 readers of Austrian magazine 4WD-International, which is also available in Switzerland and the Bayern region of Germany.
Voters rated the Sorento the No1 vehicle in the Category 2 SUV class, for its good value for money, off road abilities, excellent build quality and high level of passive safety - as confirmed by the latest 2003 EuroNCAP crash test results earlier this year.
Kia Motors’ COO Yong-Hwan Kim said, “We are very pleased to have received this award from our Austrian customers. The Sorento continues to drive the Kia brand forward with its outstanding blend of performance, styling and value.
