(Seoul) Kia Motors Corporation on May 27th held its very first viewing and test drive of their exciting new Sportage model. The event offered a sneak peek which consisted of a short test drive and evaluation of the Sportage which was previously code named the ‘KM’. The event was held at Kia’s Hwasung plant in South Korea during Kia’s 2004 Distributors Convention. There were 124 participants, reporters and distributors who took part in the test drive.
The test drive was held at Kia’s Hwasung proving ground on its 4 km high speed track. Ten new model Sportages were available to drive for 40 minutes. Participants had a choice of a 2.7 V6 gasoline engine or a 2.0 CRDi diesel engine. Participants also had the choice of manual or standard as well as choice of various colors, such as blue, red, silver, black and green.
Overall the response was overwhelmingly positive, as participants gave praise to the stylish and strong exterior, the roomy and compartment filled interior and the powerful ride and smooth handling.
Kia Senior Executive Vice President and COO, Y.H.Kim was pleased with the result and stated, “We are very excited about the new Sportage.
