- Kia Motors Netherlands to logo sponsor several international speed skating teams for the 2004-2005 skating season
(SEOUL) January 28, 2005 -- Kia Motors Corporation has announced that Kia Netherlands will officially be one of two major logo sponsors for several international speed skating teams for the 2004-2005 racing season.
The sponsorship entails the prominent placing of Kia’s brand logo on the chest, legs and arms of the national skating teams of South Korea, Russia, Sweden, Finland, Belarus, Hungary, Romania, Ukraine, Switzerland, Poland and the Republic of Czechoslovakia with the potential of adding more.
“Kia Motors is always looking for opportunities to be involved in dynamic sports like speed skating. Participation in such exhilarating activities is very much inline with our image as an ‘exciting and enabling’ carmaker,” said Christopher Dore, Kia Motors International PR Manager. “With the recent announcement of our new slogan, “The Power to Surprise,” you can expect Kia to be proactive throughout the world as we continue to push the limits and bring to you exciting cars.”
Kia Netherlands is no stranger to speed skating as the major sponsor of the Korean team in 2004. The success of the Korean team spurred the additional sponsoring of the European teams.
“Speed skating is a perfect match for Kia. Speed skating is a sport which requires speed, strength and the aspiration to be the finest, these traits are exemplified in our exciting quality vehicles like the Picanto and Sorento and in all we do at Kia Motors,” said Senior Executive Vice President and COO, Mr. Yong-Hwan Kim.
“Kia Motors is the fastest growing carmaker in the world and now a proud sponsor of several national speed skating teams. As we continue to grow I can assure you that Kia will aggressively continue our sports marketing activities into the future,” he added.
