Hyundai Motor Group’s construction firm, Amco recorded the lowest accident rate among the top 100 Korean construction companies, demonstrating that it has pursued safety management of highest level.
According to the data, “2004 Accident Rate among Construction Companies with Top 1,000 Construction Capabilities” released by the Ministry of Labor, Amco (Representative Director: Kim Chang-hee. www.amco.co.kr) recorded 0% accident rate among the top 100 performance businesses.
Hence, Amco topped the list with the lowest accident rate, followed by CIC Corp.(No.2), Samho, Shinan and Namyang Construction.
In particular, Amco is known not to have experienced any accidents at all last year.
Given that the company operates a total of 25 sites involving 3,640 persons (including those dispatched from suppliers), recording the 0% accident rate a year is a very hard to achieve performance.
To achieve the feat, Amco has staged an enterprise-wide no-accident campaign, and made continued efforts to prevent safety accidents and ensured quality by newly establishing Quality & Safety Team right under the company’s President.
