For the first time in its history, Amco, Hyundai Motor Group’s construction company hires entry-level employees with a bachelor’s degree.
Amco, Hyundai Motor Group’s construction company (Representative Director: Kim Chang-hee. www.amco.co.kr) said on October 16 that it will implement its first regular recruitment of entry-level employees since its foundation.
The company plans to hire a total of ○○ persons majoring in construction, civil engineering, electricity, mechanical engineering and business by receiving applications from October 17 to 27 on the company’s website, which will be followed by document screening and interview.
Amco toured universities in Seoul and major schools in provincial areas for recruiting, which had met with enthusiastic responses from students. Nearly 1,000 students participated in the counseling sessions offered by the company.
Amco’s hiring its first entry-level employees with a bachelor’s degree since its foundation is to increase their proportion to change the company’s current human resource makeup which mainly consists of experienced employees scouted from other construction companies. It is in line of the company’s long-term human resource development strategy to turn the newly hired entry-level employees into a driving engine of Amco’s further development.
While Amco has focused on accumulating technological prowess and stabilizing the management system by hiring experienced people equipped with know-how in the construction sector, it now desires to build an organizational think tank and lay a foundation to lead the industry in the future by hiring and nurturing those who will share corporate vision and grow with the company.
When Amco recruited experienced workers last year through its website, 4,100 professionals, including certified technologists, applied to record 82:1 competition rate.
Noting “Amco is an aggressive company that was included among the top 50 in the construction company assessment that it went through for the first time”, an HR official of Amco said, “We will nurture the first official batch of entry-level employees to be hired into key human resource who will play a pivotal role in the company’s further advancement.
Meanwhile, the number of employees at Amco has nearly doubled every year rising from 150 upon the company’s October 2002 foundation, to 250 in 2003 and then to 500 in 2005. The end.
