Amco, Hyundai Motor Group’s construction company (Representative Director: Kim Chang-hee. www.amco.co.kr) said on October 30 that Amco’s first official regular recruitment of entry-level employees conducted 3years after its foundation recorded the competition rate of 110:1, as nearly 3,300 people applied for 30 available positions.
To hire employees for five fields such as construction, civil engineering, electricity, facility and management, the company received applications from October 17 to 27 on its website.
Throughout the period, an average of 150 e-mails came in from applicants filing questions to the mail set up for customer service and HR managers. In particular, on the last day of October 27, about 2,000 people submitted applications to much surprise of company officials.
University students’ interest in Amco’s entry-level employee recruitment has already shown during the campus recruiting that was implemented prior to the application reception.
Nearly 1,000 students from universities in Seoul and major schools at provincial areas visited Amco’s booths set up at each college in search of information and advice. The enthusiastic responses from students, who were already well aware of the company information and business performance, heated up the campus recruiting.
A HR manager of Amco said, “Although we limited the recruitment only to five areas such as construction, civil engineering, electricity, facility and management, the competition rate was as high as 110:1. Applicants who make through document screening will be subject to in-depth interviews by field, and medical checkup starting from mid November. The company will contact successful candidates individually in early December.
When Amco recruited experienced workers last year through its website, 4,100 professionals, including certified technologists, applied to record 82:1 competition rate.
