To facilitate activities to fulfill corporate social responsibility, an integrated construction company of Hyundai Motor Group, Amco (Representative: Kim Chang-Hee www.amco.co.kr) contributed goods worth about 60 million won to Beautiful Store (www.beautifulstore.org).
During the ‘Goods Contribution Ceremony of Love’ held on the seventh floor of the Amco building, Executive Vice President, Jo Wi-geon, presented a total of 7,022 goods of 85 types to the Representative of Beautiful Store, Hong Myung-hee.
The goods contributed included items such as wristwatches, neckties, golf shoes and pens that had previously been sold by Amco’s FM Division at Hyundai-Kia buildings. An official of Amco said that it decided to make the contribution to ‘increase the awareness of the importance of sharing and contributing among employees.’
The goods will be sold at eight branches of Beautiful Store in Seoul, Gyeonggi province, including the Anguk branch. The proceeds are planned to be used to support the unprivileged and welfare organizations.
Beautiful Store, established in March 2002, is a charity organization that provides financial support to the underprivileged and welfare organizations from the proceeds garnered from selling specialty items donated from companies in 70 stores across the country.
Amco’s Executive Vice President, Jo Wi-geon said, “With the company growing so quickly, we decided to make the contribution to become of a model company in terms of CSR. By recognizing CSR as an aspect of business management, we will reach out to society by encouraging employees to continuously offer volunteer services with a sense of responsibility as a member of Amco,” he added. Apart from its continuous donations, Amco also plans to institutionalize CSR activities as the voluntary services participated by all employees.
Meanwhile, after making donations to ‘Beautiful Foundation’ under the ‘Happy Home’ campaign to stabilize housing conditions for juvenile family heads in August, Amco organized ‘Rice Sharing Group’ late last year to carry out ‘Rice Sharing of Love’ campaign. The end.
