AMCO, a general construction company of the Hyundai Motor Group of Companies (Representative Director: Kim, Chang Hee. www.amco.co.kr), announced that the company executed social contributory activities by visiting alienated neighborhoods in the eve of Thanksgiving holiday.
AMCO visited 20 or so households with boys and girls as the head of the household, and children’s welfare centers in the regions of Seoul and Gyeonggi-do over period of 3 days from September 18 to 20, and delivered rice, rice cake and blanket sets.
More than 50 ‘AMCO sharing voluntary service group’ selected from each business divisions of the company delivered total of 65 sacks, 3~5 20 kg sacks of rice, and rice cakes to 20 households with boys and girls as the head of the household, and 50 sets of winter blankets and rice cakes to children’s welfare center during this activity.
In particular, the ‘AMCO sharing voluntary service group’, along with delivery of the presents, spent time with the elderly of the households with boys and girls as the head of the household, and the children, sharing warmth in heart by becoming their companion.
The members of the group fixed and maintained residential environment that needs repairs by inspecting the residence along with the old people, assisted in children’s studies and provided consultations for their relationship with classmates, assisted with guidance for educational sites and advised on appropriate amount of time spent on computers.
A personnel of the company stated that “it was an excellent opportunity to convey the love of family and warmth of the society in which members live together in harmony to alienated neighbors for whom national holidays are lonely time as there are not families or relatives visiting them” and that “we will continue to carry out meaningful activities of sharing love by personally visiting such less fortunate neighbors in addition to social contributory activities of conveyance of goods and funds.”
AMCO is expanding its social contributory projects by executing various projects including “AMCO happy place of living” project that supports households with boys and girls as the head of the household with prescribed amount of funds, voluntary services and management of facilities at children’s welfare facility, and campaign for blood donation of love and delivery of briquette of love.
In addition, AMCO recently donated approximately 400 items including books, clothing, ski set and suits for the “Voluntary Product Donation Event” through which alienated neighbors are assisted by collecting recyclable products. This is equivalent to 1 item per person working at the headquarters.
