Integrated terminal will be established in Goyang City by 2010, equipped with shopping center and cultural facilities.
AMCO, a general construction company of the Hyundai Motor Group(Representative Director: Kim, Chang Hee. www.amco.co.kr) held ground breaking ceremony for the 『Goyang Integrated Terminal』 in Baekseok-dong, Goyang City, on the 7th, in the presence of some 100 interested parties including Mr. Kang, Hyun Seok, the Mayor of Goyang City; Mr. Hwang, In Pyo, the Mayor of Ilsan Dong-gu Municipality; Mr. Kim, Bo Han, the president of Integrated Terminal Goyang Co., Ltd.; and Mr. Kim, Chang Hee, the president of AMCO. Construction of terminal has commenced in earnest.
Construction of Goyang Integrated Terminal, for which ground breaking ceremony was held on this day, had been won by AMCO independently from the Goyang Integrated Terminal Co., Ltd. Construction of contemporary building with 5 underground floors and 7 above ground floors with total floor area of 146,200㎡에 is scheduled to be completed by April 2010.
Goyang Terminal is an integrated terminal with commercial facilities (shopping and large capacity market), work facilities (business start-up support center, etc), movie theater, parking lot transit passengers (9,204㎡) and business start-up support center (1,928㎡) in addition to terminal for express buses and inter-city buses.
This terminal will be equipped with 30 or so berths for buses, enabling operation of more than 300 express buses and inter-city buses servicing more than 60 routes throughout the country. It is anticipated that approximately average of 2,700 passengers would be using the terminal daily.
Goyang Integrated Terminal will cover the general regions of Moosan and Paju in the North western region of Gyeonggi Province in the future. Upon completion, it is forecasted that the Terminal will play core role in public functions and commercial functions of the region as well as establish new commercial centers in the region.
In particular, general region of Baeseok Station, on the Subway Route No. 3, in Goyang City is a strategic location for transportation that connects with Paju, Yangju, Euijungbu, Kimpo and Incheon. With additional construction of broad road network including the 2nd perimeter beltway that links Ilsan with Moonsan as well as highway between Seoul and Moonsan, the current transient population of 80,000 is expected to increase substantially, playing a key role in rapid growth of the region as a core commercial center.
Goyang Integrated Terminal is planning to establish parking lots with total capacity of more than 1,900 vehicles including 1,500 passenger cars, 100 buses and 300 for transit passengers.
Mr. Kim, Chang Hee, the president of AMCO, stated that “the company has successfully increased orders for private sector development including apartment in the districts 1 and 3 of general regions of Kangil in Kangseo-gu, and new construction of Joongang Hospital for Veterans in Doonchon-dong” and that “the company is planning to continuously expand construction projects by private sector and public sector in the future in order to accomplish the goal of attaining rank within the top 10 in the construction industry in korea by year 2010.”
