Construction company AMCO, a subsidiary company of Hyundai Motor Group of Companies, proclaimed the 2nd business start-up by changing the company name and presenting the visions of the company.
AMCO (Representative Director: Kim, Chang Hee, www.amco.co.kr) announced that the company, in the presence of Vice-chairman Kim, Chang Hee and all the staffs and executives of the company, proclaimed on the 1st at the auditorium in the headquarters in Yangjae-dong that the company name will be changed to ‘HYUNDAI AMCO’, and presented CI on the new company name and the vision that t he company will become one of the top 5 construction companies in Korea by the year 2015.
Vice-chairman of AMCO, Mr. Kim Chang Hee, through his opening remarks, announced that “Changes of company name to HYUNDAI AMCO signifies the 2nd business start-up’ and that “we will become one of top 5 construction companies in Korea by the year 2015 by accomplishing the target of winning orders with total value of 10 Trillion KW and Revenue of 6 Trillion KW.
Vice chairman, Mr. Kim, stated that the company “is planning to become one of the major general construction company in Korea by reinforcing our competitiveness in the areas of construction and civil engineering, differentiating residential projects and reinforcing overseas projects as well as assertively advancing into the area of plant business within the next 1~2 years” in order to achieve above goals.
Accordingly, 「Construction Project Division」 of AMCO is planning to reinforce its technological competitiveness by securing advantageous position in the ultra high-rise building market through pursuing of construction 110-story Global Business Center (GBC) to be constructed in Sungsoo-dong next year. 「Civil Engineering Project Division」is also planning to assertively excavate plan-proposal type projects including development of Social Overhead (SOC) projects in regions including Southeast Asia, Middle East, Africa and Central America..
In particular, AMCO, in order to reinforce its competitiveness in the area of 「Residential Projects」 for which the company is relatively unsatisfactory performances as the company is a late comer in this area, is planning to introduce apartment units by spurring on development of environment-friendly, low-energy technology that can reduce the energy consumption by as much as 50% by 2011, and also planning to assertively advance into public subscription type PF projects that can generate stabilized profit and to pursue remodeling, redevelopment and reconstruction projects.
In addition, the 「Overseas Project Division」 will pursue expansion of projects with countries including Vietnam, Cambodia, Libya, Türkmenistan and Russia into which the company has already advanced into as the basis, and is planning to assertively pursue development projects with countries with low development but high growth as the target.
AMCO announced that AMCO changed its company name to ‘HYUNDAI AMCO’ and declared the second business start-up in order to substantially expand orders in Korea and from overseas countries through highlighting of the reliability of the company as a subsidiary company of Hyundai Motor Group of Company, and to make further advances by propagating the image as a global construction company that is assertively pursuing overseas development projects in Vietnam, Libya and Cambodia.
AMCO, which will celebrate its 7th anniversary in October, has continued to grow with performances including winning of order in 2008 with total value of 2 Trillion KW and Revenue of 1.8 Trillion KW, and achieved the subcontract ranking of 20th among domestic construction companies by pursuing construction projects of the Group including construction of manufacturing plants and research institutes in Korea and overseas of the Hyundai Motor Group of Companies, and construction of hotel, harbor and steel mill, as well as through its own development projects.
The newly changed CI () signifies the meanings including growth, leadership and harmony, and presents the company vision of advancing into the future and the world as well as contains the corporate philosophy of ‘HYUNDAI AMCO’ of co-existing with the clients.
In particular, the image of construction company that is undergoing ceaseless progress was expressed by configuring a symbol in the form of ascending structure with colors including the 「Green」 that signifies environment-friendliness and prosperity, 「Yellow」 on the top of the company name that signifies warmth and 「Red」 that signifies passion.
