The biggest golf match in the first half of this year will open, raising expectations that Korea’s representative female golfers will play a fantastic game. The “Hyundai E&C-Seoul Economy Ladies Open,” cohosted by Hyundai E&C and the Seoul Economy Daily, will open at Suwon C.C. in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, during three days from April 22. Experts say the five-year old competition has transformed itself into a major contest since 2007 when Hyundai E&C established the event to contribute to the development of Korea’s golf culture. Top female golfers will compete for total 600 million won, twice the prize of last year, and the first place winner will be presented with as much as 120 million won. The contest is expected to have a major effect on the landscape of prize competition among golf empresses as it offers the richest prize among golf events held in the first half of this year.
