HYUNDAI AMCO, a subsidiary construction company of Hyundai Motor Group of Companies, is assertively pursuing environment-friendly energy consumption reduction system including development of energy consumption reduction control system that prevents leakage of electricity within apartment units.
HYUNDAI AMCO (Representative Director: Kim. Chang Hee. www.hyundai-amco.co.kr) announced recently that the company developed and completed submission for patent for the first time in Korea for the 『next-generation intelligent type energy consumption reduction system』 that can save as much as 15% of the standby power, which is the power consumed even when household appliances are not being used within apartments.
In particular, this system ◆ can intercept the standby power by separating them for each bedroom, living room and kitchen, ◆ is differentiated through function that can freely set and control the prearranged interception time, ◆ and is particularly characterized by substantially reinforce convenience by equipping it with the system that can turn off all the lights in the house at the entrance door when leaving the house.
‘Standby power’ refers to the electricity that is being automatically consumed even when household appliances such as computer, TV, audio, air conditioner and washing machines are not being used but the electrical cord is connected to power outlets.
This system that has been developed is an advanced system that has separately installed intelligent type distribution panel that can control all electricity being used within the apartment unit including each bedroom, living room and kitchen, which automatically detects and intercepts generation of standby power automatically, thereby preventing waste of electricity.
While the Home-automation of other construction companies in Korea thus far could achieve this only through integration of electricity and standby power, it is the first time in Korea that HYUNDAI AMCO is able to introduce system provides not only integrated control through home-automation function but also function that intercepts for each room or schedule control function that can set the interception time in advance.
Accordingly, when this new system is applied, it can intercept approximately 67kw of standby power that needs not be used on the average in a month for a 85m2 (32 pyeong) apartment on the basis of the statistics provided by the Korea Energy Management Corporation (KEMCO), thereby saving 6,700 Won (average monthly electric bill of 44,000 Won for 85m2 unit).
HYUNDAI AMCO is planning to apply this system, which has already been applied for patent, as early as the second half of this year.
Moreover, HYUNDAI AMCO is planning to accelerate development of environment-friendly technologies including ◆ 50% reduction in air conditioning and heating energy ◆ development of high performance window system and ◆ integrated energy consumption management system in order to reinforce competitiveness in the apartment projects and securing of growth engineer.
For this purpose, HYUNDAI AMCO is assertively pursuing development of energy system through measures including establishment of environment-friendly energy team under the direct control of the vice-president since 2008 with plans to complete the development successively from 2012.
