Hyundai E&C’s 2011 Sustainability Report was honored with the award of the 1st runner-up at the Corporate Register Reporting Awards, becoming the only prize-winning construction company among builders both at home and abroad. The CRRA is the world’s most prestigious award that evaluates excellence of global sustainability reports based on professionalism and fairness. There are nine categories of review: best reports, 1st time reports, integrated reports, reports from small and medium enterprises, carbon disclosure, creativity communication, relevance & materiality and openness & honesty and credibility. Hyundai E&C was awarded the 1st runner-up in the category of this year’s best integrated report. Korea’s primary builder had been named as the best 1st time report last year. The awards were determined through an online voting by about 37,000 experts around the globe including scholars, consultants, governments’ institutions, investors, analysts and experts from the broadcasting industry and NGOs and a qualitative review of a group of experts. In the case of the online voting, its fairness was secured by limiting IPs according to continents including Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Africa and the Middle East. Companies such as Coca-Cola Company, Microsoft, Vodafone, L’Oreal and Max & Spencer received the awards this year. The award winning enabled Hyundai E&C to be recognized as a global leading company in sustainable management and get abreast of the world’s best-known companies.
