- Video training on quality control for 43 parts in 8 languages conducted at all the business units, both within Korea and internationally - Education impact maximized through 3D video and virtual simulation – improvements in quality awareness
MOBIS is conducting video-based global quality control training for all its business units worldwide. With this momentum behind it, MOBIS plans to enter the global top 5 in the field of automobile parts by advancing quality management and ultimately attaining the recognized status of having the world’s highest quality parts.
In last year, MOBIS conducted quality control training for its staff, both those in the head office and also in the 9 plants located worldwide (5 plants in Korea; 4 plants overseas). Meanwhile, this year, the company will upgrade and expand this quality control training program for all business units too. In fact, MOBIS plans to secure standardized global quality level by adopting the same teaching material in all its business units, regardless of their location.
MOBIS has produced teaching material in 8 languages on 43 parts, including ABS, airbags, lamps, hybrid car parts and all kinds of electrical parts (Korea, English, Chinese, Hindi, Slovak, Russian and Portuguese) and this teaching material will be used in online and offline training programs according to country and occupational group.
This 90-minitue video produced specially for the training program deals with a comprehensive range of quality management, including: the functions, and principles of mechanical parts, an introduction to component parts, the importance of quality, production procedures, the main elements of quality, a reliability test for zero-defects quality assurance, and directions for the warehousing, delivery and distribution of goods, and also precautions.
In particular, it maximizes visual effect with realistic 3D video on the role of parts and how they work. Virtual simulations also help promote a better understanding of what could happen if the relevant part is not installed in a vehicle correctly.
MOBIS plans to continue expanding the program on the features and manufacturing processes of its products. In addition, MOBIS overseas branches have announced their commitment to this endeavor to maximize staff’s educational capacity through implementing the education system and by conducting follow-up surveys of participant satisfaction so as to create a more effective training program.
The reason why MOBIS focuses on the quality control training at the enterprise level is that the staff should internalize the awareness of quality in order to achieve its goal of GTQ 2015 (secure Global Top Quality by 2015) set last year. MOBIS plans to strengthen quality management by raising staff’s quality awareness and by implementing, through this training program, a standardized quality system in all business units worldwide.
In January 2011, MOBIS presented 5 top priority projects of ▲ securing main parts’ quality competitiveness ▲ achieving Top Class quality across the full product range ▲ attaining mass production of defect-free products. Today, MOBIS is concentrating its energy on quality assurance by organizing the GTQ-2015 promotion team and operating a global quality assurance system at enterprise level.
