- 427 new employees from both Korea and overseas participated in the camp at Haevichi Resort on Jeju - New employees from both the Korean and overseas offices joined in for a more global mindset and greater loyalty to the company
MOBIS announced on the 19th that its Summer Training Camp had started for 427 of its new recruits from both Korea and overseas at Haevichi Resort in Jeju on the 17th, scheduled to last for 4 days.
MOBIS holds its Summer Training Camp every summer to provide its new employees with an opportunity to feel a closer bond of unity and loyalty to the company, while being away from the office and interacting with each other. Moreover, taking part have been not only new employees from offices within Korea, but also from those from global subsidiaries, who have been joining since 2006, helping make the Hyundai MOBIS Summer Training Camp such a truly global event.
Some of the programs at the event include hiking to the top of Mt. Halla, a beach sports game, and culinary activity through cooking bibimbap (Korean mixed rice), all of which help the participants interact and cooperate with each other. CEO of MOBIS, Jun Ho-Suck, along with 20 MOBIS executives, also visited the camp’s site to join in with some of the programs and cheer on the new employees.
He said at the discussion session with the new employees, “I hope to see you grow to be pillars of the future of MOBIS by keeping your passion and fighting spirit strong.” The discussion session itself was designed as a way to bridge the gulf that can sometimes exist between management and new employees.
Wang Ping (28), from a Chinese subsidiary joining the camp, said, “I’ve now had hands-on experience of Korean culture and, more importantly, gained an insight into the corporate philosophy of People-First Management. I will spread what I’ve learned about the Korean culture and the corporate culture to my team members back in China.”
Ji-Yoon Sohn (28) from the ERP team at Hyundai MOBIS headquarters office said, “The Summer Training Camp has given me the chance to communicate and interact with the co-workers from all around the world, brought together by Hyundai MOBIS. While many companies may hold training sessions, I think it will be hard to find a training program as global as that of MOBIS.”
MOBIS, indeed, has have a range of programs in place, including providing overseas training program to China and a one-on-one mentoring program, helping to boost employee’s loyalty to the company and strengthening their pride in MOBIS as a global company.
