The ISO 26262 is a Functional Safety Standard for ‘Road vehicles - Functional safety’, which is issued to companies that have standardized safety management for software used in automobile systems. Hyundai Mobis was the first Korean automobile company to receive the certification. Additionally, Hyundai Mobis received the ISO 26262 certification for software used in the Smart Cruise Control system and Lane Keeping Assist system. Hyundai Mobis plans for more components to receive the ISO 26262 certification in the near future, with the goal of having all mechatronic products certified by 2014. Hyundai Mobis plans during 2013 to earn ISO 26262 certification for four additional safety-related systems including the airbag control unit.
