Hyundai E&C is pitching in to help those in need at home and abroad.
On December 14, delegates of Korea’s primary builder including director of Human Resources & Corporate Management Division Jung Hui-chan and labor union leader Lim Dong-jin visited the Community Chest of Korea located in Jeong-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, to donate around 206 million won.
The donation was made by 1,799 employees of Hyundai E&C and 590 of Hyundai Engineering & Steel Industries, Hyundai Architects & Engineers Associates, Hyundai Consulting & Information, Hyundai Seosan Farm, Hyundai City Development and Human Resources Education Center.
During the period from April to December, the participants voluntarily contributed a part of their salaries.
According to their choice, the money donated to the Community Chest of Korea will go to aid activities for next year in a bid to help multicultural families earn their ways, repair houses of the underprivileged living in Jongno-gu, resolve the drinking water problem in Kenya, offer medical expenses to children with severe disabilities and help natural disaster victims.
“It is very meaningful in that the money our employees voluntarily set apart each month will be spent to help those neglected at home and abroad,” said an official of the company.
“We plan to discuss next year’s activities in detail, so that our aspirations can be realized in a more meaningful way and do our best to make the contribution a regular one instead of a one-time event.”
