Hyundai E&C became a standout builder by obtaining good results abroad.
Hyundai E&C posted a total of 10.53 billion dollars in annual overseas orders in 2012, marking no. 1 in performance among local construction companies, according to the January 2 data on the 2012 orders registered released by the International Contractors Association of Korea.
This is the second time for Hyundai E&C to surpass 10 billion dollars in annual overseas orders since 2010 when Hyundai E&C received an order to build a nuclear power plant in United Arab Emirates. Furthermore, it is the first ever in the construction industry for a builder to win overseas orders worth more than 10 billion dollars in a year in terms of the orders received independently.
Hyundai E&C’s reaching the 10billion-dollar milestone abroad for a year is more meaningful in that the financial crisis in European countries impedes new orders in the Middle East and leads to the drop in the exchanges rate.
