Hyundai Rotem participated in the ‘Turkey-Eurasia Rail Exhibition 2013’ held at the Turkey Istanbul Expo Center(March 7-9).
First held in 2011, it is the third largest international railroad exhibition in the world. A total of 286 companies from 25 countries participated in this year’s event. Hyundai Rotem displayed next-generation high-speed trains with a maximum speed of 430km/h, a model of energy-efficient magnetic levitation trains, the train for the Marmaray project.
The Marmaray project is an ambitious undersea railway project designed to link Halkali on the European side with Gebze on the Asian side. Hyundai Rotem was selected as a supplier of 440 railcars and has begun constructing them at the Changwon plant in Korea and Hyundai EuRotem’s plant in Turkey.
