With stylish looks and innovative technologies, the new Kia Sorento has named ‘All-Wheel Drive Car of the Year 2020’ in Germany, though it is not even available yet in the European market.

Kia revealed its fourth-generation Sorento through Facebook and Youtube back in March and already has been named ‘All-Wheel Drive Car of the Year 2020’ in the ‘Design’ category by Auto Bild Allrad, Europe's best-selling four-wheel-drive magazine.

Auto Build Allrad, every year, lets its readers pick the Car of the Year, and at the same time, the award gets to attract more audience. 219 vehicles were examined under 10 categories including price, crossover, EV, tech, and design. Sorento winning the best design award would mean how Europeans are expecting the vehicle.

Kia’s reinvigorated global SUV line-up is expected to be upgraded indeed when the award-winning successor comes along later this year

The new fourth-generation Sorento was finally revealed six years after its predecessor was born. The third-gen Sorento has been sold over 10,000 in Europe, not to mention its fame in Eastern Europe. Kia’s reinvigorated global SUV line-up is expected to be upgraded indeed when the award-winning successor comes along later this year.

The new ‘tiger nose’ grille now wraps round the integrated headlamps, with the latter debuting fresh ‘tiger eye’ LED daytime running lights

Multiple auto magazines around the world are giving the new Sorento optimistic reviews, too. According to the British auto magazine ‘Car’, “the new ‘tiger nose’ grille now wraps round the integrated headlamps, with the latter debuting fresh ‘tiger eye’ LED daytime running lights.” Certainly the new styling of the multinational design team paid off.

Car & Driver, American auto magazine, read the cabin design 'looks to be an improvement over its predecessor' and it has 'given us a pretty good idea of what to expect from the redesigned mid-size crossover'. The magazine also said it is looking forward to various powertrain options including hybrid and high-performance.

With cozy cabin and lots of tech, the new Sorento is expected to sell itself

British auto magazine Top Gear read, ‘With added luxe and lots of tech, it got more girth and sits a little lower to the ground. Which, when combined with Peter Schreyer’s latest, more striking design, gives the car added road presence’.

This is the third consecutive award for Kia from Auto Bild Allrad - readers of trade magazine voted for the Kia Stinger sports sedan as the winner in the ‘All-wheel drive cars under 40,000 euros’ category back in 2018 and 2019.

Kia Motors Corporation, now becoming one of the leading automakers, has won big at the 2020 World Car Awards with the Telluride named 'World Car of the Year' and the Soul EV 'World Urban Car'. The company's European model, XCeed, also won the Polish 'Car Of The Year 2020', and Niro EV proved itself to be green enough by winning '2020 Car of the Year' given by What Car.
