HMG aims to connect ”possibilities to the customers’ daily lives” and places customers first at the center of all values. Realizing customer value starts with delivering valuable products and services to customers in a timely manner by organically connecting businesses and technologies and creating synergy. In order to provide products and services that correspond to their lifestyle behaviors in a new era, HMG affiliates have optimized their business portfolios and connected future mobility, robotics, UAM and metaverse to discover new growth engines that are consistent with the latest trends. The Group enhances customer value by differentiating customer experience in an innovative way, advancing services that derive solutions ahead of customer needs, and strengthening a mindset for customer service.
HMG promotes customer-oriented quality management under the quality philosophy of ”providing zero-defect products and services to customers.” In order to improve the quality of its products and services, the Group has established an integrated quality plan that ranges from legal requirements to customer needs and applied such plan to the planning and development stages of products and services to take preemptive quality management actions. HMG is also committed to enhancing product reliability by upgrading quality analyses, shortening time for responding to customer demands and increasing work efficiency with a data-based quality management system using AI and big data.
HMG runs an ESG management process for its supply chain that evaluates, manages and resolves possible risks of partner companies in the areas of environment, safety/health, labor/human rights and compliance with ethical standards to build a sustainable supply chain. The Group has actively supported its partners to improve their ESG performance so that they can boost competitiveness in the global market.
HMG strives to build a sustainable supply chain along with partner companies, including establishing a process that promotes ethics and transparency in the raw material procurement process based on international standards (e.g., OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas), with the aim of preventing environmental pollution and human rights violations that may occur when mining minerals in troubled regions.
A talented workforce is key that opens the door to the society of the future. Hyundai Motor Group plans to expand the recruitment of young people in key future areas and seeks to create future jobs by providing opportunities for internships at group companies, promoting industry-academia cooperation such as research scholarship students, job training for future technologies in science and engineering, and discovering and nurturing start-ups. Particularly, jobs in new business areas such as robotics, UAM, electric vehicles, hydrogen energy, and autonomous driving can give hope and opportunities to the younger generation, and a virtuous cycle can be achieved in various areas within the company, thereby increasing the overall competitiveness.
