I agree to the privacy policy

1. General rules
Hyundai Motor Group complies with the regulations on personal information protection of related legislation, which an information communication service provider must abide by, including Act on Promotion of Information and Communication Network Utilization and Information Protection, Personal Information Protection Act, Communication Privacy Protection Act, Telecommunications Business Act, and does its best to protect user rights by developing Privacy Policy based on the related legislation.
Any addition, deletion or modification to current Privacy Policy will be notified through Notification on the Company’s webpage at least seven days prior to such revision taking effect or through other easily noticeable means. Also, if significant changes are made to user rights, including changes to collection and use of personal information and disclosure of the information to third parties, we will notify at least 30 days prior to the intended changes.

2. The purpose for collection and use of personal information
1)Hyundai Motor Group will use your personal information only for the purpose and within the scope to which you consent with the goal of providing services. Hyundai Motor Group will never disclose your personal information to a third party unless otherwise required by the relevant laws and regulations or consented by you.

4. Disclose personal information to a third party
1)Hyundai Motor Group will use your personal information only for the purposes set forth above and will not disclose to or share your personal information with any third party unless consented by you in the course of your use of the Services or otherwise required by law.
2)For any Services that are linked to a third-party service, Hyundai Motor Group may provide your personal information to such third party with your consent within the scope necessary for your use of the Services. But, Please bear in mind that you will not be able to access some of the services if you disable your personal information to such third party with your consent.

5. Term of retention and use of personal information
Your personal information will be discarded without delay after fulfilling the purpose of collection and use unless it is required to retain such information under the applicable laws or Hyundai Motor Group’s internal policies.
1)After fulfilling the purpose of collection and use of your personal information to which you have consented, your personal information will be placed in a separate database (or a filing cabinet in case of paper records) and retained for a certain period of time stipulated under the applicable laws and regulations before being discarded. Paper records will be either shredded or incinerated, and electronic records will be discarded in an irreversible manner using technical methods. However, records pertaining to improper use of the Services will be retained for a period of one year before being discarded in the manners as set forth above in accordance with Hyundai Motor Group’s internal policies to prevent any disputes arising from improper use of the Services. Personal information retained by Hyundai Motor Group as required by the applicable laws is as follows:

Applicable laws: Act on the Consumer Protection in the Electronic Commerce Transactions, etc.
Term of retention: 3 years

6. Destroy personal information according to the procedure and method
Your personal information shall be destroyed without delay when you delete the account, in principle, and once the purpose of collection and use of the personal information has been accomplished. However, if some information requires storage in compliance with related legislation, such information shall be stored for specific period designated by related law.
The personal information is transferred to a separate database once the purpose of collection and use is achieved (hard copies are moved to a separate cabinet), saved for a certain period in accordance with the internal policy and the reason of information protection stated by other relevant legislation (see period of retention and use), and destroyed. The corresponding personal information is not used for the purpose other than for retention, unless that purpose derives from the law. Personal information printed on paper will be shredded or incinerated and if such information is saved in electronic file format, it will be erased using a technology that does not allow recovery of records.

7. Entrusts personal information
1)Hyundai Motor Group defines necessary measures when it comes to signing entrust contract in accordance with related legislation to ensure safe management of entrusted personal information. The consigning organizations and entrusted work are defined below.

8. Technical and administrative measures to protect your personal information
Hyundai Motor Group stores and manages your personal information in encrypted form, according to related legislation and internal policy for the purpose of safety acquisition that will prevent loss, theft, leak, falsification or damage of personal information while handling such information. Hyundai Motor Group does its best to prevent leakage or damage of the user’s personal information by hacking or computer viruses.
Hyundai Motor Group also frequently makes back-up copies of the personal information in case of deterioration, prevents leakage or damage of the information by using the latest vaccine programs, and uses encrypted communication to facilitate safe transmission of personal information on the network. In addition, the Company controls external intrusion utilizing intrusion prevention system, and does its best to be equipped with all possible technological instruments to ensure system security.

9. Rights of you or your legal guardian
1)You (or your legal guardian if you are under 14 years of age) may review or change your personal information at any time, and you may also request to withdraw your consent to Hyundai Motor Group’s collection and use of your personal information.
2)You can view and modify your registered personal information at anytime and if do not approve Hyundai Motor Group’s processing of personal information; you can also refuse to agree or request termination of account. However, in those cases you may have limited or no access to the services.

11. Any changes to our privacy policy
Hyundai Motor Group may amend this Privacy Policy to, for example, reflect changes to the Services or applicable law. We will post a notice about any Privacy Policy changes. If changes to our Privacy Policy materially affect your rights due to unavoidable reasons, we will give you a 7-day prior notice.
