in Incheon and Pohang produce 12 million tons of mainly rebars and H-steels, and in 2013 the company completed Korea’s first integrated steel mill in the private sector
with a capacity to produce 12 million tons of mainly hot and cold rolled steel sheets.
It also merged with Hyundai Hysco in 2015 and secured production facilities in Ulsan
and Suncheon. Hyundai Steel is also expanding its global competitiveness with
17 overseas subsidiaries and 8 overseas branches in 14 countries.

- Hyundai Steel, which has Korea’s largest electric arc furnace based production capacity, accounts for 40% of total domestic steel bar production.
Based on over 50 years of technological expertise, Hyundai Steel’s portfolio
consists of a wide range of products, including rebars, H-beams, sheet piles
and railway tracks. Seven of Hyundai Steel’s products have been selected as

In particular, steel plates for ships require exceptionally high quality standards and
in this area, Hyundai Steel’s mill has obtained approval from one of the
world’s top 10 shipping registers.
- From Korea’s

- Hyundai Steel is contributing to the safety of Korea with its launch of the country’s first earthquake proof steel products brand, ‘H CORE,’ in 2017.
The company is also doing its best to preserve the environment: Hyundai Steel’s integrated steel mill in Dangjin was the first in the world to build an enclosed raw materials processing system to prevent the loss of raw materials and protect the environment from the dust created during the steelmaking process, standing out as a model example of eco-friendly steelmaking processes worldwide. Going forward, Hyundai Steel, with its 24 million tons of steel producing capabilities a year, its world class product portfolio and ecofriendly
business model, will strive to create new values for its customers, from a customer’s perspective. The company will stay true to its corporate vision to become a steelmaker
that offers more than just steel.
