The Genesis Electrified GV70, which first debuted in 2022, amazed the market on multiple levels. As Genesis’s first luxury midsize SUV, the GV70 combined the advantages of a midsize luxury SUV with the unique appeal of electric vehicle technology, delivering unmatched value. Now, after 2 years and 10 months, the redesigned Electrified GV70 is set to offer customers an even more advanced luxury electric experience.
By maintaining its original strengths while adding new features befitting a luxury electric vehicle, the facelifted model enhances its appeal. These updates include an extended driving range, improved ride quality, maximized design appeal, and deeper luxury aesthetics. Here are the five key features of the updated Electrified GV70.
The Refined Appeal of “Athletic Elegance” with Sophisticated Details
The redesigned Electrified GV70 stays true to Genesis’s design philosophy of “Athletic Elegance” while incorporating detailed refinements to offer a new visual experience. The Crest Grille stands out as one of the most significant changes. In fact, the design differences between the Electrified GV70 and its internal combustion engine counterpart can largely be attributed to the grille.
The redesigned Electrified GV70 adopts a unique G-Matrix pattern in a gradient form, which becomes smaller toward the bottom. This adds depth to the design and highlights the futuristic image typical of electric vehicles.
The front bumper features a wider intake area, emphasizing the dynamic and stable look of a luxury electric SUV. The two-line headlamp design, a hallmark of Genesis, now incorporates Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology, further accentuating its elegant design.
On the side, new 20-inch wheels in matte dark gray emphasize sleekness and dynamism. The 5-spoke design adds a sporty touch while optimizing aerodynamics, and rim-mounted resonators reduce road noise. A 19-inch matte dark gray wheel option is also available for a more robust yet sophisticated look.

Longer Driving Range with Fourth-Generation Battery Technology
One of the key considerations for electric vehicle buyers is driving range, and the redesigned Electrified GV70 has made significant improvements in this area. The updated model boasts a driving range of 423 km (263 miles) per charge on 19-inch wheels and 400 km (249 miles) on 20-inch wheels. Compared to the previous Electrified GV70 model, which achieved 400 km on 19-inch wheels, this is a notable enhancement.
This improvement is attributed to the use of a fourth-generation battery, which increases capacity from 77.4 kWh to 84 kWh. Due to the nature of a facelifted model, where changes to the body size are difficult, increasing the battery capacity is not an easy task. While the number of battery cells remains the same at 384, the energy density per cell has increased from 618Wh/L to 670Wh/L.
Despite the increase in battery capacity, the fast-charging speed remains impressively quick. With 350 kW ultra-fast charging, the battery can go from 10% to 80% in just 19 minutes. Additionally, the redesigned Electrified GV70 introduces an improved Battery Conditioning Mode, which optimizes battery temperature to maintain peak fast-charging performance. Previously, this feature only activated when a charging station was set as a destination in the navigation system. However, in the updated model, drivers can manually activate this function at any time. Furthermore, a cooling function has been ad-ded to maintain the battery's optimal temperature during summer, enhancing performance in hot conditions.
Enhanced Ride Quality and Dynamic Driving Performance
The original Electrified GV70 captured market attention by flawlessly translating the GV70’s signature luxurious driving dynamics into an electric vehicle. This defining characteristic remains intact in the redesigned Electrified GV70, but with even greater advancements. Through detailed enhancements, the updated model delivers significant improvements in ride comfort, quietness, and overall driving experience.
The dual motors produce 320 kW (435 PS) and 600 Nm of torque, with Boost Mode increasing output to 360 kW (490 PS) and 700 Nm of torque. To manage this power effectively, the chassis has been upgraded with advanced technologies.
In particular, the Preview Electronic Control Suspension, which was key to the comfortable ride of the previous model, has been further refined with Highway Body Motion Control (HBC) technology. This feature activates during highway driving assist mode and minimizes body movement in situations involving sud-den acceleration or deceleration caused by preceding vehicles, ensuring optimal ride comfort.
Another notable enhancement is found in the rear suspension bushings. The redesigned Electrified GV70 optimizes the bushings of the rear Power Electric (PE) mount and applies hydro bushings to the front tension arm and rear crossmember. This approach effectively reduces road vibrations, resulting in a significantly smoother and more peaceful driving experience. Additionally, the steering gear ratio has been optimized to enhance agile handling, contributing to a more responsive driving experience.
Advanced EV Features and Improved Convenience

One standout feature is Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), which allows the vehicle to supply power to external devices. This capability is particularly praised for its versatility, enabling users to power various electronic devices during outdoor activities such as camping, adding convenience and utility to the luxury electric SUV.
The convenience of EV-specific features in the Electrified GV70 has been significantly improved. One prime example is the new electric power control system. In the facelifted model, pressing the start button once without stepping on the brake pedal activates the POWER ON mode, which allows users to access functions such as V2L, climate control, and utility mode without engaging the motor for driving. This innovation greatly enhances the usability of EV-specific features. Additionally, the charging door, located on the Crest Grille, has been upgraded with a motorized operation. It now includes built-in heating and lighting, making the charging process more convenient and user-friendly.
The redesigned Electrified GV70 also takes a big leap forward on the infotainment system; it now offers a wide array of content, and the integration of Bang & Olufsen sound systems with Dolby Atmos provides an immersive auditory experience. Furthermore, streaming platforms like Disney+ and Netflix are now accessible through the large display and high-resolution sound system, creating an even more advanced and enjoyable in-car entertainment environment.
