Hyundai Motor Group is accelerating its transition to a Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) development system. Software-driven mobility makes it possible for us to give our customers the freedom of safe, comfortable mobility and innovative user experiences while bolstering our flexible, agile response to customer needs.
Building on next-generation vehicle platforms, integrated controllers and software platforms developed in-house, the Group plans to offer Over-the-Air (OTA) software updates as a standard feature for all vehicles sold on the global market by 2025. This will allow customers to improve the performance of their vehicles when and where they want and equip them with various features to suit individual lifestyles without having to visit a service center.
We are also making efforts to lead the mobility industry of the future to a whole new level. The Group has established a global software center and is developing software-driven mobility devices and solutions to fully engage with the future mobility and logistics markets. In addition, we plan to build a system that enables our mobility devices to be connected to the smartphone ecosystem and release software development kits for mobility devices to create an ecosystem to support the development of a variety of applications. Furthermore, the Group will continue to provide innovative services to customers by establishing a data platform that connects and processes the large amount of information generated throughout vehicle operations.
