Carbon Neutrality & Energy Transition

Hyundai Motor Group recognizes the importance of achieving carbon neutrality to protect the planet and ensure that future generations can enjoy a healthy natural environment. Through a range of actions—reducing and offsetting greenhouse-gas emissions, investing in renewable power generation and procurement, accelerating the transition to electrified vehicles, and advancing our hydrogen vision toward a hydrogen society—we aim to contribute not only across our value chain but also to the broader, global energy transition that addresses the climate crisis.

Resource Circularity

Hyundai Motor Group is moving beyond the linear economy—where resources are extracted → produced → consumed → discarded—to a circular economy in which materials are renewed and recycled in continuous loops. Across the product lifecycle—planning, design, sourcing, manufacturing, and distribution—we will raise resource efficiency, and after use, we will increase take-back and recycling rates so that materials keep flowing productively through the system.

Established in November 2007, the Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Foundation carries forward the founding philosophy of Honorary Chairman Mong-Koo Chung—contributing to national and social development through corporate activities—by advancing social-contribution programs.

Grounded in the founder’s philosophy and guided by the vision of a “global foundation that leads social change and innovation,” the Foundation addresses hid-den issues in underserved areas beyond the reach of public attention and support, and backs our society’s change and development to help build a sustainable future.

Customer-Experience Innovation

Delivering customer value starts with connecting our businesses and technologies organically to create synergy, then providing useful products and services at the optimal moment our customers need them.

We establish an integrated quality plan that spans legal requirements and customer needs, and apply it from the planning and development stages to enable proactive quality control.

In parallel, we operate a data-driven quality management system using AI and big data to: advance quality analytics, shorten time to address customer requests and improvements, increase operational efficiency, and ultimately enhance product reliability.

Building a Sustainable Supply Chain

Hyundai Motor Group operates a supply-chain ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance factors) management process that evaluates, manages, and improves potential risks at our partners related to environment, safety/health, labor/human rights, and ethics to build a sustainable supply chain. On this foundation, we actively support our partners in improving their ESG performance so they can strengthen competitiveness in global markets.

In raw-material sourcing, we also work with partners to prevent environmental damage and human-rights violations that can occur in mineral extraction from conflict-affected or high-risk areas. Together, we are establishing processes—based on international standards such as the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas—to enhance ethics and transparency throughout the sourcing process, advancing a truly sustainable supply chain.

Future Job Creation

Talent powers the future. Hyundai Motor Group (HMG) will expand hiring of young professionals in core future fields and create jobs through: Group internships, industry–academia programs such as research scholarships, STEM future-technology training, and startup discovery and incubation.

In particular, new-business roles in robotics, UAM, EVs, hydrogen energy, and autonomous driving offer hope and opportunity for younger generations—while inside the company they stimulate virtuous cycles across functions, raising overall competitiveness.
