December 18, 2025 – The New Kia Sportage has secured the prestigious 5-star safety rating in the latest Latin NCAP crash test evaluations, joining Kia’s elite lineup of top-rated models earning 5 stars in Latin NCAP: K3, K4, and EV4. This achievement reinforces Kia’s leadership in safety and innovation across Latin America.
The 5-star rating was awarded after the New Sportage demonstrated exceptional performance in key assessment areas, including adult and child occupant protection, as well as advanced safety technologies. Latin NCAP’s rigorous testing protocols highlight the importance of structural integrity and active safety systems, both of which have been significantly enhanced in the New Sportage.
In 2025, Kia introduced a redesigned version featuring enhanced safety updates, including rear seatbelt reminders, i-Size anchor points, passenger airbag deactivation, and broader availability of ADAS technologies, meeting Latin NCAP requirements. These improvements contributed to Kia’s safety rating, increasing from three to five stars, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to delivering advanced protection and peace of mind for all passengers.
"Achieving a 5-star rating from Latin NCAP is a testament to our relentless commitment to safety and innovation," said David Palm, Head of Product at Kia Central and South America. "We are proud to offer our customers in Latin America a vehicle that not only meets but exceeds the highest safety standards."
This recognition is even more significant because Sportage is a key volume and image driver in Kia’s lineup, making this achievement a powerful statement of leadership in safety and design. With Latin NCAP continuously raising its safety standards, this accomplishment highlights Kia’s unwavering commitment to delivering vehicles that exceed global safety benchmarks, ensuring peace of mind for customers across the region.
